Welcome to Airport Meat Processing. We are a United States Marine Corps veteran owned family business. We take pride in all that we do! We want you to be happy and come back so we always go above and beyond to make sure that happens! Lance has been an avid hunter and outdoorsman his entire life. He has processed deer for many years, not only for himself, but for his friends and others as well. His sausage and burger became popular within his circle of family and friends. At their encouragement, he decided to take the leap and open AMP in the fall of 2020. We had a stellar first season and doubled the projected amount of deer we were told we should expect our first year. We are so thankful to all of our customers who gave us a try and to the many who have came back many times since. A returning customer is a huge compliment and a blessing! Thank You!
For the past fifteen years we have owned a pest control company, Lance Exterminating, Inc. here in Valdosta and it is still running strong. Lance has 24 years in pest control during which time he has served USDA audited meat facilities, restaurants, schools, etc. He was also certified in viral and bacterial sanitation. So you can imagine we keep our facility pest free and clean!!! We have fly lights, air curtains, sanitizing foot baths, etc installed throughout our facility. All of our workers wear butcher coats, gloves, hair nets & beard nets too. Cleanliness is a main priority at our facility, which, we believe, goes hand in hand with keeping our customers happy and building trust. After all, what we make for you goes into the bellies of your loved ones and we take that very seriously.
When we decided to open AMP, we were only thinking of processing deer. After having worked inside some of the largest audited meat facilities in south GA and north FL, Lance gained the knowledge of how to design and run our facility. He acquired a mentor or two over the years as well! To our delight, when the inspectors came out to approve our build out, they said we had one of the finest deer processing facilities they'd seen and they didn't see any reason why we shouldn't aim to get retail and/or USDA certified to process cows and other livestock. So we jumped in feet first and went straight into processing cows, hogs, and goats when deer season was over. We haven't decided what route we want to take yet with livestock. Right now we are GA Department of Agriculture custom cut exempt. We've not applied for anything else but you all will be the first to know if we decide to.
We are going strong into our 5th season now and we invite you to come and visit us. Let us process one for you. We promise you won't be disappointed. We want to be your butcher!
